New tunnels: Playland is currently working on a new mold that will allow production of a tunnel that is like no other in the world. I will have pictures for you very soon but to give you an idea; these will match the look of the bubble walls. It almost looks as if you twisted two walls together to form a tunnel. In addition to this brand new mold – SII will also be releasing a tunnel with clear panels – allowing for more visibility and less areas where people can hide. This has been a bit of an issue for public organizations in the past few years so we believe this will solve the problem. Both new tunnels are set for release in early June.

New tiles: Due to growing complaints of quality degradation and lack of support from SofSurfaces, we will no longer be selling SofTile’s compressed rubber tiles. We have partnered with Ecore International to bring you their line of PlayGuard tiles. Although PlayGuard is new to us the tile is not new to the industry. In fact PlayGuard has a proven track record of quality production since 1998. PlayGuard is the only other tile in the world with a 10 year warranty that covers everything from abrasion to impact attenuation. PlayGuard also plans to release a brand new tile in June that will carry a 15 year warranty! This is unheard-of for rubber tiles and will be a monumental accomplishment. PlayGuard is also the only manufacturer in the world that can create custom graphic overlays with a patented water jet process. We are excited to introduce this new product and believe it will have even more success than any other tile we’ve carried in the past. More details and pictures to come.

New Playground Turf System: For the past year we’ve been researching supply chains and testing different combinations of turf system components to bring you the best system at an affordable price. We are happy to announce that our system is complete and we will soon be releasing our new brand name along with more details on each component and how they work together. To give you a preview: the systems bottom layer consists of a mixture of molded poly-foam which contributes to the majority of resilience. The second component is our top of the line 60oz multi-colored turf that is backed by an 8 year guarantee. The final component is a patented Acrylic Coated Silicon (ACS) which replicates the benefits of natural soil without the susceptibility to microbes and other drawbacks. Stay tuned for more.

New Built-In Playground Shades: Superior Shade has finished work on their new attached playground shades that can be placed onto new or existing structures. These have a brand new curve look that will change the entire appearance of the playground area. No other manufacturer currently has anything like this so it will be exciting to see how owners respond to this more modern design. As with the older attached shades – no building permit will be required. Pictures to be posted soon.

New Shade Designs: Superior Shade is constantly innovating and  creating structures in an effort to surpass customer expectations. A few new designs that you’ll likely see built this year are the butterfly canopy and the amphitheater shade (on our front page). No project is too big or complex. If you can dream it up – we’ll do our best to build it for you.

DSA Shades: We now have Division of State Architecture (DSA) approved shade structures in the following sizes: [L & W] 20'x10' | 20'x15' | 20'x20' | 25'x25' | 30'x20' | 30'x25' | 36'x18' | 40'x20' | 30'x30' | 40'x30' [Heights] 8’ | 10’ | 12’

Outdoor Fitness Equipment: Superior Shape is our new line of premium outdoor fitness equipment at a very affordable price. New ChildWorks Line – coming soon: ChildWorks is working on a new crawler/toddler line designed for smaller budgets. No expected completion date has been set but we will keep you posted.

SkySpan improvements: Built In Misting, Heaters, Lights and Speakers: Featured at the 2010 California Park and Rec Show in Palm Springs. What more can I say other than WoW!

New Gym Flooring by Everlast: Everlast sports surfacing with Nike Grind for health clubs, fitness centers, weight rooms, tracks, and gyms. Over 55 standard color options and unlimited custom logo capabilities.

New net structures: Playland is currently developing a new line of net-based structures similar to what some other manufacturers have started to produce. This is a growing trend and we feel confident that they will create a solid product which will be a compliment to the Active Play line. No expected completion date has been set – more details to come.
