Comprehensive Insurance Coverage

CRS maintains insurance coverage consistent with, and often exceeding, industry standards for commercial playground manufacturing, supply, installation coordination, inspection services, and completed operations. Coverage is structured to protect owners, contractors, and other project stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Current coverage includes, as applicable:

  • Commercial General Liability with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, including Products and Completed Operations
  • Umbrella / Excess Liability coverage providing an additional $2,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate
  • Automobile Liability coverage for owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles
  • Workers’ Compensation coverage in compliance with statutory requirements, including Employer’s Liability limits of $1,000,000
  • Playground Inspection Errors & Omissions (Professional Liability) coverage with limits of $1,000,000 per claim and aggregate

This layered insurance structure supports risk protection across manufacturing, delivery, installation, inspection, and post-completion exposure.

Additional Insured, Primary & Non-Contributory Status

When required by written contract, CRS provides Additional Insured status in favor of owners, agencies, and other designated parties for Commercial General Liability and Automobile Liability.

Such coverage is provided on a primary and non-contributory basis, meaning CRS’s insurance responds first and does not seek contribution from the additional insured’s own insurance, where contractually required.

Additional Insured status applies to liability arising out of CRS’s ongoing and completed operations, consistent with industry-standard blanket endorsements.

Waiver of Subrogation

CRS’s insurance program includes blanket waivers of subrogation in favor of parties with whom CRS has agreed in writing to provide such waivers. This applies, as required, to:

  • Commercial General Liability
  • Automobile Liability
  • Workers’ Compensation

Waiver of subrogation provisions are intended to reduce inter-party claims and support cooperative risk allocation on public and institutional projects.

Professional Liability for Inspection Services

Recognizing the specialized nature of playground inspection and safety consulting, CRS maintains Errors & Omissions (Professional Liability) coverage specific to playground inspection services. This coverage helps protect clients and stakeholders from claims arising out of professional inspection activities, evaluations, or recommendations.

This coverage reinforces CRS’s commitment to responsible inspection practices and professional accountability.

Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

CRS operates in compliance with applicable business and contractor licensing requirements in the jurisdictions where projects are delivered. We understand that licensing obligations vary by state, municipality, and project scope—particularly for public works, installation services, and inspection activities.

Where installation services are involved, CRS coordinates with properly licensed contractors and supports compliance with local permitting, inspection, and regulatory requirements.

Contractual Risk Management & Documentation

CRS supports disciplined contractual risk management by providing:

  • Certificates of insurance and endorsements upon request
  • Documentation supporting Additional Insured, waiver of subrogation, and primary/non-contributory requirements
  • Clear alignment between contract language and available coverage
  • Cooperation with client risk managers, legal counsel, and insurers

CRS understands that certificates of insurance are issued for informational purposes and that coverage is governed by the terms, conditions, exclusions, and endorsements of the underlying policies.

Risk Awareness Across the Project Lifecycle

Risk management at CRS extends beyond contract execution and installation. We remain engaged throughout the lifecycle of a playground project by supporting:

  • Standards-based design, manufacturing, and installation practices
  • Inspection coordination and maintenance guidance
  • Long-term asset stewardship and compliance awareness
  • Clear communication regarding roles, responsibilities, and limitations

This lifecycle-based approach helps reduce claims exposure and supports responsible ownership.

Shared Responsibility for Risk Management

CRS recognizes that effective risk management is a shared responsibility among manufacturers, suppliers, installers, inspectors, and owners. While CRS maintains robust insurance coverage, proper licensing, and disciplined risk practices, the ongoing operation, inspection, and maintenance of a playground ultimately remain the responsibility of the owning entity.

By maintaining comprehensive insurance, adhering to licensing requirements, providing professional liability protection for inspection services, and supporting transparent risk allocation, Creative Recreational Systems, Inc. delivers playground projects with a high standard of accountability, protection, and confidence.
